A trainee entering the process is required
to prove that they have access to appropriate
On the Job experience with a CORGI registered
engineer.
Trainees are expected to be mature and
preferably have an engineering, plumbing,
air conditioning, construction or similar
background.
They are expected to demonstrate sufficient
mathematical ability to be able to carry out the
calculations relating to gas rates and ventilation.
A Training Centre may wish to develop their own
assessment process for this.
Trainees will need to have demonstrated competence
in the Off Job theory and practical examinations
undertaken at the Training Centre and to have
collated sufficient suitable On the Job evidence
before being allowed to attempt any ACS Assessment.
The final decision on this suitability lies with
a member of the training staff.
The final decision of the suitability of a
trainee to enter the Pathway to Gas training program
lies with the individual Training Centre.
